Six week course
£75 per dog & handler
Venue: Stoney Stanton Village Hall
Platform training is a relatively new type of training where a dog learns to position himself on a small platform as a home base to which he will quickly and eagerly return.
Dogs can use platforms to solidify basic skills and also improve their coordination.
Dogs can more easily learn basic behaviors like sit and down at a distance. They can learn to stay or wait more easily when asked to do so on a platform.
Getting a dog to keep his paws on the platform can create jump-free greetings of strangers.
By changing the position of the platform in relation to the handler, we can use platform training to strengthen good behaviours such as walking nicely on leash on either side of the person, and learning to focus.
